Popular Nigerian Singer, David Adedeji Adeleke, better known by his
stage name Davido has revealed the reason his much-anticipated sophomore
music album is yet to be released.
The singer had announced the release of the ‘Baddest’ album on many
occasions, but he recently came up with vague cancellations as the
proposed date drew near.
Latest of these came this month, with a planned release on October 10, failing to be activated.
Davido has explained the reason behind the delay, citing the interest
of a ‘big corporation’ with distribution interests as responsible for
the delay.
According to the Singer, he said “The album is done, everything,
but funny enough, two days before we were about to drop the album, we
got a call from a very big corporation that wants to be involved in the
album distribution, that’s why we pulled back.”
He further explained. “There’s no point doing things the same. If
you are going to do it big, there’s no point doing it at all. That’s
why I chilled back, and I want to let the big corporations do their
work. But the album is coming.”
