CHAN 2016: Eagles Vow To Return Home With The Trophy

Ahead of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) which kicks-off on January 16 in Rwanda, the home based Super Eagles have promised to do their very best and return home with the trophy.
Playing in Group C alongside Tunisia, Niger Republic and Guinea, the home-based Eagles will begin their quest at the tourney on Monday January 18, against Niger in Kigali.
It would be recalled that Nigerian Premier League hotshot, Gbolahan Salami pulled out of the team to perfect a move to a European club. Also, Oghenekaro Etebo who was named CAF Most Promising Talent was not called up to the squad.

Vanguard reports that Eagles left back Chris Madaki disclosed that the team have prepared well and are battle-ready for the tournament.
He said: “Though winning the title will be tough because it’s a competition and every team aspire to be winner, I don’t expect easy games but we our determination and preparation and God on our side, by His grace we will be the champions.
“Everybody here in camp is in good spirit and form. Every player here is great and we are ready for the task ahead of us in Rwanda. I am so happy that we are all at our best.”
The team will depend on Sunshine Stars striker Tunde Adeniji and the clever Chisom ‘Kolanut Boy’ Chikatara for goals in Rwanda, who have recovered from their respective injuries.
