Delta Govt. Signs MoU With Chinese Company To Boost Electricity

The Delta State government through its Ministry of Energy and the office of the Secretary to the State Government has taken a bold step towards boosting electricity supply by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Chinese Company, Yutal Li Nigeria Limited for the provision of 100 megawatts solar powered electricity generating plant.
He State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa presided over the signing of the MOU in Asaba saying the partnership was necessary because of the importance of electricity supply to the growth of micro, small, medium scale enterprises.


He added that the partnership will not only give a boost to employment but, to the socio-economic development of the state and the country at large since it will be helping to increase electricity supplied to the national grid.
Meanwhile land required for the power plant has been sourced for already and the project is expected to be constructed within one year after the contractor has been mobilized to site.
