The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, has called for the support of the international community in the fight against corruption.
He made the call during a visit to the Abuja office of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador to Nigeria, Mahmud Muhammad Al-Mahmud.
“The
fight against graft requires the collaborative support of all and
sundry, most especially the international community, for it to be won”, Magu said.
The
EFCC boss stated that the President Muhammadu Buhari administration is
determined to recover all the money looted in the country and laundered
abroad by corrupt leaders.
He added, “I have come to seek your support and cooperation just as we had in the case of Diepreye Solomon Peter Alamieyeseigha, James Ibori, among others to get the mission accomplished”.
We can recalls that President Buhari signed a Mutual Legal Assistance agreement with the UAE two weeks ago, to facilitate the recovery of stolen funds and the extradition of indicted officials.
