WATCH: Korean, Nigerian win hearts in 'I Love OPM'

MANILA - Moses Akoh, a Nigerian college student living in the Philippines, and a South Korean studying at the De La Salle University were among the newest contestants of "I Love OPM" to pass the first stage of the singing competition.
Akoh, who has been in the Philippines for more than three years, performed South Border's "Kahit Kailan," while Yohan Hwang had the judges swooning over his cover of "Ako'y Sa'Yo, Ika'y Sa Akin."
"Napakaganda ng boses mo, pati the way you looked at life, the way you looked at our country, the way you looked at our kababayans," judge Toni Gonzaga told Akoh after his performance.

"Kasi yung iba ang nakikita sa bansa natin puro traffic, pero ikaw ang nakita mo is ang kabutihan ng kalooban namin. So maraming salamat," she added.

Meanwhile, Gonzaga also had some kind words for Hwang. She told the South Korean: "Ang perfect ng diction mo sa Tagalog."
"Kung sino man ang nagturo sa iyo, ang galing niya. Kasi pag pumikit ako at hindi ko inisip na galing ka sa ibang bansa at Koreano ka, iisipin ko Pilipino iyong kumakanta," she explained.
Both Akoh and Hwang earned spots in the next round of the competition after being given nods by Gonzaga and fellow judges Martin Nievera and Lani Misalucha.
Hosted by Anne Curtis and Eric Nicolas, "I Love OPM" airs Saturdays after "Maalaala Mo Kaya" and Sundays after "Rated K."
