Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, has sworn in a new Head of Civil Service, Ekereobong Akpan.
Speaking at the occasion on Tuesday at Government House in Uyo,
Governor Udom charged the new Head of Civil Service to restructure the
state civil service for optimum results.
Governor Emmanuel explained that the appointment was meant to inject new life into the service.
He further charged the new appointee to restructure the service in
line with modern trends to ensure efficiency and encourage best
practice.
The Governor, who described the new Head of the Civil Service as a
seasoned technocrat, urged her to use her wealth of experience to
strengthen the service.
In response, Mrs Akpan, gave the assurance that she would use her office to restore core values of the civil service.
Commenting on the appointment, Secretary to the State Government, Mr
Etekamba Umoren and son of the new appointee both expressed confidence
in the ability of Akpan to deliver.
The event was attended by members of the State Executive Council.
